Question 3 
What have you learned from the audience feedback?
There are three main points in our process where we gained 
feedback from our potential audience. 
These were: 
• From our storyboard 
• From our rough cut 
• From our final production.
We decided to show some of our classmates our storyboard 
so we could gain feedback from them on how our initial 
ideas are going. 
The main feedback we gained from this was positive with 
no suggestions on how to improve, the second group we 
asked but decided not to film suggested: 
• Change the time in the trailer where she finds out about 
her stalking, possibly mid way through, so the 
trailer builds with tension. 
• Also the panning shot at the end could be changed to just 
a quick close up of her being taken, so the trailer ends 
with the audience questioning what happens.

We also changed the panning idea to a still shot and then a 
close up to keep up the tension. 
The ending shots
It was important to listen to what our class mates 
answered in our interview, as they are a part of our 
target audience, the main ideas that the picked out 
for us to improve on were: 
1. The music 
2. The length 
3. The ending

We decided, with the help 
of other classmates, that 
the music should be slow 
so the characters look like 
the are a couple and the 
film could be a romance, 
this would then make the 
change from romance to 
thriller more dramatic. 
In the beginning of the 
rough cut there was no 
music, only the tense 
track that started about 20 
seconds in, this made the 
copy feel unfinished and 
unprofessional. 
Adding the music made the whole trailer feel more finished and linked all 
of the shots together better.

We decided to delete the clip of the conversation where it zooms into her 
reply. We did this as the conversation clip seemed to drag out, and we 
decided that it wasn’t needed in order to understand the storyline.

In the original the clip, we had a mid shot of the main character standing 
then a quick close up of her being grabbed, whereas in the new one it’s 
a slowed down extreme clos up of half of the character’s face. The 
change means that the ending is more tense to keep in with the thriller 
genre.

• They liked the red 
hair 
• They thought the 
pictures was typical 
of our genre 
• The cover doesn’t fit 
with many other 
covers from this 
magazine

they all agreed 
that the picture 
looks a lot more 
typical of a 
SOFILM cover 
and so liked the 
changes we made.

We created a rough poster to show our initial ideas, we knew we wouldn’t 
use this for our final piece but we thought that it would be good to see what 
others think. They gave us feedback which we were thinking- too dark, the 
highlights are too contrasting and the title is too dark because it should stand 
out. We used this feedback to help us create our final piece.

In the end all the feedback we used 
constructively, we knew we wanted to make 
our campaign as strong as possible and 
connected to our target audience. The 
feedback from our target audience has 
contributed to help us create our three 
pieces.
