                                                     MBF Project Highlight

Bonny Doon Elementary School will be the very first beneficiary of the
MBF program. The goal is to install a complete solar PV array in 2011 in
partnership with RC Cubed and the Monterey Bay Resource Efficiency
Consortium (MBREC). The project will be completed using local solar
installers as well as students studying renewable energy and sustainable
construction at local community colleges, providing valuable real-world
work experience to the next generation of green job seekers.

Events- Green Initiatives
AT&T Pro Am-
Thank you to the Community Foundation of the Monterey
Peninsula and the Pebble Beach Community Services District
for bringing a zero waste mission to the AT&T. TOP brought
in 148 volunteers who delivered on-the-ground education to
attendees. Having volunteers there to talk about waste
diversion and why it’s important to Pebble Beach Resorts
makes their food waste collection behind the scenes
suddenly become very tangible. Full Press Release.

Big Sur International Marathon-
For the second year in a row, TOP has been instrumental in
helping the Marathon receive GOLD certification through
Council for Responsible Sports. Not only does the
certification focus on waste, it also certifies transportation
initiatives, energy reductions, community program
development and carbon offset programs. BSIM Full Report.

Castroville Artichoke Festival-
TOP is helping the Artichoke Festival create a sustainable zero
waste program. The Festival has implemented a sustainability
policy for their vendors and will be working on streamlining
products for next year’s event to support this program.
