Olympic Torch Relay

The Olympic Torch relay is an event preceding the Olympic Games where the Olympic flame is carried across the host country. The flame is lit in Olympia, Greece and carried by runners to the host city's Olympic stadium in a celebration of athletic achievement and international goodwill. This year's torch relay began on November 2, 2009 and traveled across various regions in preparation for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada.
