Hadoop in Enterprise Architecture
Concept
Big Data Analytics (BDA) is rapidly turning out to be a significant global enterprise need. It aims to facilitate the
storage, querying and analysis of enterprise big data, which is getting more complicated and time-consuming with
traditional database technologies. Apache Hadoop is a well-known Open-source BDA enterprise solution which is
seeing an annual application growth rate of 60% globally.
IInnnnoovvaattiivvee Management Services is pleased to host the 1st Annual Open-BDA Hadoop Summit 2014 – Hadoop in
Enterprise Architecture. This two-day event is the first of its type in Pakistan and will feature Apache Hadoop
thought leaders who will showcase successful Hadoop use cases, share development and administration tips and
tricks, and educate organizations about how best to leverage Apache Hadoop as a key component of their enterprise
big data architecture. The summit also includes a live hands-on workshop to demonstrate the core Hadoop function-ality
required for SMEs and large-scale organizations. It is also an excellent networking event for developers, archi-tects,
administrators, data analysts, data scientists and vendors interested in advancing, extending or implementing
Apache Hadoop.
Summit Theme – Hadoop in Enterprise Architecture
The theme of Open-BDA Summit 2014 is “Hadoop in Enterprise Architecture”. In the summit, leading experts of
Apache Hadoop from around the globe will share best practices which focus on the application of Hadoop in the
Business Ecosystem while offering business perspective to the CIOs, IT Managers, Developers, Architects, Adminis-trators,
Data Analysts, Data Scientists and the Vendor Community.
With the rise of Apache Hadoop, a next-generation enterprise data architecture is emerging that allows organizations
to efficiently rein in their big data business transactions. Hadoop is uniquely capable of storing, aggregating, querying
and analyzing big data sources into formats that fuel new business insights. Organizations that embrace solution
architectures focused on maximizing data-driven insights will put themselves in a position to drive more business,
enhance productivity, maintain competitive edge or discover new and lucrative business opportunities. Over the
coming years, Hadoop could be in a position to process more than half the world’s data.
Hadoop in Enterprise Architecture
Organizations today need to explore Hadoop’s role in the enterprise architecture and how it complements existing
enterprise systems. In this context, the Summit will focus on three-key areas:
- Business Value in Big Data with Hadoop
- Hadoop Driven Business
- Hadoop Deployment and Operations
With respect to these topics, the Summit will include key note, thought leadership, case studies/success stories,
panel discussions, sponsor presentations and networking opportunities.
Hadoop in Enterprise Architecture
Date and Venue
Open-BDA Summit 2014 is scheduled to be held on 18th & 19th November 2014. The Venue for the Summit is
Marriott Hotel, Karachi. Situated at the heart of the city, it has gained popularity as the most prestigious venue for
major corporate events in the country. High security parameter within the boundaries of the hotel makes it an ideal
location for International Events. The Crystal Ball room at the hotel is a state of the art structure well suited for holding
an event like Open-BDA Summit 2014.
HHoonnoorraarryy Advisory Panel
Thought leaders, domain experts, successful implementers and researchers from around the globe will be requested
to become members of Honorary Advisory Panel and guide the Organizers in the finalization of Summit Programs,
Topics and Speakers for the Summit.
Focussed Sessions
Business Value in Big Data with Hadoop
Shaun Connolly from Hortonworks said: “If there’s one thing my interactions with our customers has taught me, it’s
tthhaatt Apache Hadoop didn’t disrupt the data center, the data did”. This session will give the audience an overview of
benefits from business perspective.
Hadoop Driven Business
This session will focus on the journey with Hadoop from proof of concept to production. It will explore and highlight
the business impact of Hadoop, challenges along the way, solutions available and key lessons which can be used in
your organization.
Hadoop Deployment and Operations
TThhiiss session highlights the content related to the deployment lifecycle of Hadoop cluster including: installation,
configuration, monitoring, scaling and how Hadoop works with Big Data in a linux environment.
Hands-On Hadoop Training
A Training Session will be offered in conjunction with the Summit to help beginners and intermediate users of BDA
to acquire preliminary and state-of-the-art knowledge about the Hadoop Ecosystem, configure a limited-scale
Hadoop enterprise setup and particularly use Hadoop to make query execution on big data more efficient (the most
common BDA problem facing global enterprises).
Hadoop in Enterprise Architecture
Audience
Open-BDA Hadoop Summit and Training 2014 will provide a technical overview of Apache Hadoop for decision
makers and business users. Students will obtain a deeper knowledge of Hadoop by running queries and using real
world use cases to help provide the understanding of the power of Hadoop.
TThhee event is designed for CIOs, IT Managers, Developers, Data Architects, Technical Infrastructure Teams, Data
Scientists, Data Integration Architects, Data Administrators, Data Analysts and Decision Makers who want to under-stand
the fundamentals of Big Data and Hadoop Architecture.
No prior knowledge of Hadoop is required to attend the Summit. No programming experience is required for Training
Session.
Major Takeaways
- A thorough understanding of Big Data Deluge
- Understanding the need for the evolution of Hadoop
- Role of Hadoop in the Enterprise Architecture
