This document presents a study on a proactive routing protocol named Optimized Proactive Link State Routing (OPSR) aimed at preventing Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). It describes the characteristics of MANETs, outlines different routing protocols including reactive and proactive approaches, and details the vulnerabilities of existing protocols like OLSR to various attacks. The proposed OPSR method enhances routing efficiency and security by eliminating 'selfish nodes' that contribute to DoS attacks and significantly improves upon the performance metrics of previously established protocols.
