Course Title: Strategic Management
Course Credits: 3 units Contact Hours/Week: 3 hours
Course Description: The student will be given the general idea of what is involved in developing an organization to achieve its vision and mission,
its philosophies, and culture to ensure its competitiveness in a globalized economy. The scope will cover such topics as principles
and theories of organization development, organization design and structuring, planning and development, performance
management, culture and change management. It focuses on the management of organizational change/interventions from a
system perspective. The students will gain sufficient knowledge to appreciate the overall impact of these activities for the success
of an organization.
Prerequisite: None

Business Administration, Public Management,
Accountancy, Business Economics, Cooperatives,
Entrepreneurship, Hotel and Restaurant Management,
Management, Marketing, and other business-related

Classroom Policies
1. Every student shall wear the prescribed uniform and identification card during in-person meetings. (Art
530 sec.2, University Code).
2. Male students shall sport a clean and decent haircut regardless of whether the student is enrolled in
ROTC or not. Male students shall not be allowed to wear earrings (Art.532 sec. 2, University Code)
3. Every student shall attend classes promptly and regularly. In all cases of absences, a student may only
be re-admitted to their classes upon presentation of a letter of excuse signed by the parent/guardian. A
student who is marked tardy for three consecutive days will be meted one absence. (Art.533 sec.2,
University Code).
4. Students are required to observe proper decorum in class at all times; such as; observing class schedules
and student consultation hours, courtesy and responsible use of learning and media platforms
5. Cellphones should always be in silent mode during class hours; the use of which is prohibited in class
unless a special permission is sought.
6. Cheating is strictly prohibited. Any student caught cheating and/or letting her/his work copied by others
(in any form) will be automatically dropped from the class. Students are likewise expected to observe
academic integrity in all submitted reports/papers by citing appropriate authors and acknowledging
sources.
7. Activities, assessments and other requirements/outputs shall be submitted on time. Submission beyond
the deadline will be subject to grade deduction.

8. No special exam is given for Mid-term and Final Examinations, except in cases where the failure to take
the exam is due to sickness or unavoidable circumstances. Special major examination is given only
within one week after the examination schedule. Make up quizzes are given for excused absences only.
9. Respect for the person and/or property of others are highly expected.
Students are encouraged to consult with their professor for any matter concerning these policies and other
course-related concerns at the schedule for consultation indicated below, or upon appointment.

Every student shall wear the prescribed uniform and identification card during in-person meetings. (Art 530 sec.2, University Code). 2. Male students shall sport a clean and decent haircut regardless of whether the student is enrolled in ROTC or not. Male students shall not be allowed to wear earrings (Art.532 sec. 2, University Code) 3. Every student shall attend classes promptly and regularly. In all cases of absences, a student may only be re-admitted to their classes upon presentation of a letter of excuse signed by the parent/guardian. A student who is marked tardy for three consecutive days will be meted one absence. (Art.533 sec.2, University Code). 4. Students are required to observe proper decorum in class at all times; such as; observing class schedules and student consultation hours, courtesy and responsible use of learning and media platforms 5. Cellphones should always be in silent mode during class hours; the use of which is prohibited in class unless a special permission is sought. 6. Cheating is strictly prohibited. Any student caught cheating and/or letting her/his work copied by others (in any form) will be automatically dropped from the class. Students are likewise expected to observe academic integrity in all submitted reports/papers by citing appropriate authors and acknowledging sources. 7. Activities, assessments and other requirements/outputs shall be submitted on time. Submission beyond the deadline will be subject to grade deduction.
