Transaction Processing Systems
A Transaction Processing System (TPS) is a type of information system that collects, stores,
modifies and retrieves the data transactions of an enterprise
Management information system
Management information system (MIS) usually take data from the transaction processing
systems and summarise it into a series of management reports . MIS reports tend to be used
by middle management and operational supervisors.
Decision Support Systems
A decision support system (DSS) is an interactive computer-based information system that,
like MIS, also serves at the management level of an organization. It provides middle
managers with the information that enables them to make intelligent decisions.
Expert Support Systems
Executive Information Systems are strategic-level information systems that are found at the
top of the Pyramid. They help executives and senior managers analyze the environment in
which the organization operates, to identify long-term trends, and to plan appropriate
courses of action.

 The earliest mobile banking services were offered over SMS , a service known as SMS
banking
 The first European banks started to offer mobile banking on this platform to their
customers
 In 1999, with the introduction of smartphones with WAP(wireless application protocol)

 Mobile banking is a system that allows customers of a financial institution
to conduct a number of financial transaction through a mobile devices such as
mobile phone or personal digital assistant.
 Mobile banking differs from mobile payments , which involves the usage of mobile
device to pay for goods or services either at the point of sale or remotely, analogously
to the use of debit or credit card .

 It is a computerized telecommunications device which enables a customer to perform
basic banking activities.
 It allows to check account at any time and without the need of human teller.
 Customer is identified by inserting a plastic ATM card with magnetic stripe or a
smartcard with a chip.
 ATM card contains a unique card number and some security information.
 Security is provided by the customer entering personal identification number (PIN).
