Microsoft is a multinational technology corporation founded in 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen. It produces the widely used Windows operating system and Microsoft Office productivity suite. Microsoft also owns the Xbox gaming platform, Skype communications app, and Bing search engine, among other products. The company has become largely successful through partnerships like one formed with IBM in 1980 that helped establish Windows on IBM computers.
