This document investigates the impact of clouds on solar energy production by quantifying the effects of clouds on the yield of PV modules. It models the atmosphere and PV power output using cloud inputs from APOLLO and libRadtran libraries. The simulations account for spectral dependency and use a two-diode model for crystalline silicon. The simulations are compared to local measurements from different days with varying cloud types, showing good agreement for clear skies but requiring smaller simulation timesteps for other cloudy conditions.
