- 1. A NET Matt 13 47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gatheredof every kind: 48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, 50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailingand gnashingof teeth. A man, a grain, leaven, a woman, and a merchantman, and the goodly pearl are and a net picturing the Kingdom of Heaven. “Good and bad fish” are defined in verse49 as “the wicked” and “the just.” (Eccl. 9:12; Mark 1:17) Lev 11:9-12 9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. 10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any livingthing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: 11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. 12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you. Eccl 9:12 For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snaredin an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.
- 2. Mark 1:17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. “They drew to shore” implies fishermen, yet the fishermen are defined as “angels” in verse49. Matt 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Matt 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. Nations at the second Advent: Matt 25 31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherddivideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 2Sam 7:10-11 10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflictthem any more, as beforetime, 11 And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house. 2Sam 7:13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
