TITHES AND OFFERINGS

Leviticus 27:30,32
30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of
the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's. It is
holy to the LORD.
32 And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of
whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be
holy to the LORD.

Malachi 3:8-12
8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But
you say, 'In what way have we robbed You?' In tithes
and offerings.
9 You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed
Me, Even this whole nation.

may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,"
Says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the
windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.

that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor

1, Tithing was something
people of faith (e.g. Abram, Jacob) did,
even before the Law.
We are people of faith
WHY WE BELIEVE THAT WE SHOULD TITHE?

2, Jesus spoke about giving the tithe
Matthew 23:23
"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For
you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have
neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice
and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done,
without leaving the others undone.

3, Hebrews chapter 7 indicates that the Lord
Jesus receives our tithes

1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the
Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the
slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
2 to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first
being translated "king of righteousness," and then
also king of Salem, meaning "king of peace,"

having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but
made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.
4 Now consider how great this man was, to whom
even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the
spoils.

receive the priesthood, have a commandment to
receive tithes from the people according to the law,
that is, from their brethren, though they have come
from the loins of Abraham;

7 Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by

Abraham, so to speak,
10 for he was still in the loins of his father when
Melchizedek met him.

Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you
openly.

2 Corinthians 9:6-10
6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap
sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap
bountifully.
7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not
grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful
giver.

things, may have an abundance for every good work.
9 As it is written: "HE HAS DISPERSED ABROAD, HE

10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and
bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have
sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness,

Sowing, when done properly,
always results in multiplication!
