JUST FOOD
Connecting communities with the resources & support they need to
make fresh, locally grown food accessible to all New Yorkers
COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE
Just Food trains groups to start & run CSA projects. CSAs buy shares in a farmers’
growing season & in return receive weekly deliveries of fresh produce & other
locally, sustainably-grown products.
URBAN AGRICULTURE
Just Food provides training & technical assistance to community gardeners to
grow food and to market their produce in low-income neighborhoods.
CITY CHICKEN
PROJECT
The City Chicken Project works with
experienced chicken keepers in NYC to
create model projects from which
gardeners can learn how to keep
happy, healthy, & productive chickens
FARM SCHOOL NYC
Provides professional training in urban agriculture for NYC residents. The program
promotes the self-reliance of communities & inspires positive local action around
issues of food access & social, economic, & racial justice.
FARM-TO-FOOD PANTRY
Just Food helps food pantries & other emergency food programs make
fresh, nutritious, locally-grown food available to families & individuals in need.
COMMUNITY FOOD EDUCATION
Just Food bridges the gap between access to healthy food & improved nutrition
by teaching New Yorkers to cook farm fresh foods to feed themselves, their
families, & their community.
