Code for Kansas City is a civic hacking organization that works with 38 governments and over 350 government partners through 105 brigades and 27,000 volunteers to solve problems using open data, tools and source code. They hold civic tech forums and app showcases and participate in the National Day of Civic Hacking through local weekly hack nights where community members can learn and collaborate on projects to improve their city.
