- 2. Why Teach PDHPE? PDHPE stands for Personal Development, Health and Physical Education. It is one of the key learning areas covered in the K-6 syllabus. For a healthy lifestyle to occur, it is essential that an individual learns about the importance of healthy eating. As a result, they are able to make informed and more positive decisions about their health.
- 3. Why Teach PDHPE? Through healthy eating and physical activity, an individuals wellbeing and quality of life will be enhanced. Students are encouraged to understand how decisions are made and how priorities are established.

An individuals healthy lifestyle may be affected by the social and cultural context in which they live. PDHPE programs are important in the development of students’ knowledge, understanding and practical skills that ultimately lead to better health for all now and in the future.
