I.Ultrasonics
1. Explain the principle, construction and working of Magnetostriction oscillator.
2. Explain the principle, construction and working of Piezo-electric oscillator.
3. Describe the theory and measurement of velocity of Ultrasonic using Acoustic
    grating.
4. Explain the applications of Ultrasonic wave in various fields.
   ( cavitations, drilling, welding, soldering ,cleaning , SONAR , ECG , A,B,C scan )

II.LASER
5. Derive Einstein’s coefficients.
6. Explain the construction and working of Nd : YAG LASER .
7. Explain the construction and working of CO 2 LASER.
8. Explain the construction and working of He:Ne LASER.
9. Explain the construction and working of Semiconductor LASER.
10.Explain the construction and reconstruction in hologram?

III.Fiber Optics
11. Derive expressions for numerical aperture and acceptance angle.
12. Explain the various types of fiber with neat diagram.
13. Explain different types of losses and dispersion in optical fiber .
14. With a neat diagram explain the fiber optic communication system and fiber optic
    sensors .

IV.Quantum Physics
15. Derive the expression for Planck’s blackbody radiation formula and deduce Wien’s
    displacement law and Rayleigh-Jeans law.
16. Derive the expression for change in wavelength of a light photon scattered by a
    carbon atom. ( carbon atom )
17. Derive the expression for Schrödinger’s time dependent and time independent wave
    equation. Derive the expression for the eigen value and eigen vector for a particle in
    a one dimensional box.
18. With a neat diagram explain the construction and working of SEM , TEM .

V.Crystal Physics
19. Explain the number of atoms per unit cell ( n ) , atomic radius ( r ) , coordination
    Number ( N ) and atomic packing factor ( apf ) for Simple Cubic , Body Centered
    Cubic , Face Centered Cubic and Hexagonal Closely Packed structure .
20. What are Miller indices? Derive the relation between the inter planar distance ( d )
    and lattice constant ( a ) .
21. Find out the crystal parameters for NaCl , ZnS , and Diamond structure .
22. Explain the various defects in the crystal .
