- 1. 4.2: Plan a test for exploiting converging technology I wanted to quickly record myself playing a few pieces of songs on a guitar. I decided that a good way to do this is through a webcamon a computer as it is more convenient for me due to not having to get out a lot of equipment. Convergence has allowed this. Computers have evolved a lot throughout the years. Originally, they could only be used to type text onto. Now, they can be used to play games, browse the internet, record video/audio through an in built camera/microphone and make video phone calls from these cameras. 4.3: Carry out and evaluate planned test The recorded video, as well as a recording of the video being recorded is on a disc attached. Watching the footage back, I discovered several things. The sound quality is not the best. A lot of background noise has come through and drowned out the sound of the guitar, and there is a lot of static noise in the background. However, the guitar is still audible, which is all I needed it for so the webcamhas fulfilled its purpose. The video quality is also rather poor and the audio is out of sync, but I can still see and hear things ok. Negative things aside, I still managed to achieve what I wanted using a webcamon a computer, something that couldn’t have been done 20 years ago.
