It is very easy to navigate because it has links and the website itself explains how to use it. * Functionality: I have checked all the links that the website has and they work well and it has not got any broken link and learners have not got to wait a long time while the website is loading. 2. Pearson Longman (1999). Longman English Dictionary Online- LDOCE. Lesson Plan. • TOPIC: reading comprehension and writing • LEVEL OF STUDENTS: pre-intermediate • NUMBER OF LESSONS: 3 lessons. • OBJECTIVES: Students will be able to: - Improve their reading comprehension and writing skills. - Give opinions about different stories and what different people did in order to help others. - Apply their prior knowledge on ecology and pollution to enlarge their work, and search the web in order to know more about them. - Have fun while using technology. LESSON ONE • WARMER: The teacher will read her students some famous legends and will ask them to give examples of legends they know. She will ask them different questions in order to activate students’ prior, background and cultural knowledge of the subject. For example: - Which legend do you know? - do you like this kind of texts? - have you ever read legends in English? Then, the teacher will ask the students to form groups and she will give each group a legend. Your boss has assigned you to write a new story about heroes and heroines; for this project you have to read about Lady Godiva (a heroine from Coventry), look up for more stories and, finally produce your own story. PROCESS: You will need to follow the next steps to complete this WebQuest assignment: 1. Open the next Power Point Presentation and read the story of Lady Godiva. 2. After reading her story, write a short paragraph answering these questions: What do you think about what she did to help her town? Do you agree? Why? Why not? What would you do if you were Lady Godiva? 3. While you are reading the story you will find some new words that you do not know, so you have to look them up using these useful online dictionaries: Pearson Longman (1999). LESSON TWO • WARMER: Students will prepare a revision of the contents that were discussed on lesson 1 answering different questions, such as “what is a legend?”, “What legends do you know?”, “What is your favourite one?.” • WEB: Students will complete step number 4 of the process, in which they have to look up for more stories and complete a chart which is in the word document and they will start preparing their own story (step number 5 of the process)
