Platfora provides an interactive, in-memory business intelligence platform for Hadoop. It aims to solve challenges with existing BI offerings on Hadoop by using "software defined" data marts that are automatically and iteratively built from Hadoop data. The Platfora solution integrates a web-based BI application, an in-memory data mart and processing engine, and an automated Hadoop data refinery to enable powerful closed-loop analysis of big data. It was demonstrated using a case study of Edmunds.com, which moved to Platfora to gain faster access and agility with their large and growing web and mobile data.
