POINTERS TO REVIEW
INTRODUCTION OF THE PHILOSOPHY
1. Ecosophy: A term coined by philosopher Arne Naess, it refers to an ecological philosophy or worldview that seeks to
address the relationship between humans and the environment.
2. Deep Ecology: An ecological and environmental philosophy that advocates for the intrinsic value of nature, beyond its
utility to humans. It emphasizes interconnectedness and the need for a shift in human consciousness.
3. Ecofeminists: Those who explore the intersections between ecology, feminism, and gender issues. Ecofeminism
examines how the exploitation of nature and women is interconnected.
4. Framework Approach: A general term indicating a systematic and structured way of approaching a particular issue, often
used in research methodologies and problem-solving.
5. Utilitarian Approach: An ethical perspective that focuses on maximizing overall happiness or utility. Actions are
considered morally right if they produce the greatest amount of pleasure or happiness for the greatest number of
people.
6. Egolists: Individuals who prioritize their own interests and well-being over others, often associated with egoism or self-
centeredness.
7. Virtue Framework: An ethical approach that emphasizes the development of virtuous character traits, such as honesty,
courage, and compassion, as the foundation for ethical behavior.
8. Duty-based Approach: An ethical perspective that emphasizes the importance of fulfilling one's moral duties and
obligations, regardless of the consequences.
9. Common-Good Approach: An ethical perspective that focuses on promoting the well-being and flourishing of the entire
community or society.
10. Feminist Approach: An ethical perspective informed by feminist theories, which often critiques and seeks to address
issues of gender inequality and oppression.
11. Ethics: The branch of philosophy that deals with moral principles, values, and the concept of right and wrong conduct.
12. Eudaimonia Approach: Rooted in Aristotle's philosophy, it suggests that the highest good for humans is to live a life of
flourishing and actualizing one's potential.
13. Fairness and Justice Approach: An ethical perspective that emphasizes the principles of fairness, equity, and justice in
decision-making.
14. Deontological Framework: Ethical theories that emphasize the inherent nature of actions, focusing on duty, rules, and
moral obligations.
15. Consequentialist Framework: Ethical theories that determine the morality of an action based on its consequences.
Utilitarianism is an example of a consequentialist approach.
16. Sapat: A term that may have various meanings depending on the context. It could be a Filipino word meaning "enough"
or "sufficient."
17. Loob or Kalooban: Filipino terms referring to the inner self, spirit, or essence. Loob is often associated with a person's
inner feelings and intentions.
18. Kapwa: A Filipino concept emphasizing the interconnectedness and shared identity among individuals. It promotes a
sense of community and collective well-being.
19. Sapat: A Filipino Ecological Ethics
1. Sapat na ang Pagkasira ng Kalikasan
2. Sapat lamang ang dapat na kunin sa kalikasan
3. Sapat lamang ang dapat kainin at bilhin
4. Sapat dapat sa mga pangangailangan ang bawat isa upang mabuhay nang malusog at marangal.
