- 5. That includes activity both on and off the LinkedIn site.

- 15. Once you’ve taken in all that information, don’t forget to turnoff sharing with third parties. It’s pre-configured, so you'll have to make the adjustment, otherwise you’re agreeing to sharing information with LinkedIn’s third parties.
- 16. It’s not really a personal service, because it’s all about your personal data. This is commoditised as a trading mechanism based on our location and interests. These technologies enable us as individuals to be targeted by “marketing companies, or political interest groups, or potential employees.” We are willing participants in providing data for statistical gathering, so others can “make decisions about you, your employability and your work ethic. (Privacy and Social Networks, Zitteran, 2007).
- 17. Linkedin State their “fundamental philosophy is “members first.” That value powers all of the decisions we make, including your information.” It’s your decision to post your information, but the final decision about how your information is used and sold is up to LinkedIn.
