Founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1998, Google
Inc. is an American multinational corporation specializing
in Internet-related services and products. These
include search, cloud computing, software, and online
advertising technologies.
1. Material symbols:
Material symbols can be found in the headquarters of Google almost
everywhere. It is essentially made up of cubicles, common areas, and meeting
rooms. This informal corporate headquarters conveys to employees that
Google values openness, equality, creativity, and flexibility.

2. Language:
A language included in Google’s culture. Google also creates an ethical
organizational culture which they stress “don't be evil”.

3. Spiritually:
Among a growing number of organizations that have embraced workplace
spiritually, Google has a strong sense of purpose which is meaningful. Spiritual
organizations recognize the worth and the value of people.
They seek to create culture in which employees can continually learn and grow.
“To organize the world’s information and make it universally
accessible and
useful,” this is the mission of Google Incorporated.



An organization’s culture is crucial to determining how
communication flows both internally as well as
externally. Communication is the driving force behind any
organization. Effective communication is the vehicle for
moving a company to achieve its goals.



The culture at Google is very open and inspiring of
creativity and inclusion, which is demonstrated through
the accessibility of everyone including the Chief Executive
Officers.


Value is placed on every employee’s input as the company’s
continued innovation “depends on the ability of everyone being
comfortable sharing ideas and opinions.”



Employee job descriptions are not limited to the duties of just that
position. Employees receive what Google calls “Innovation Time
Off,” in which they dedicate 20% of work time to working on
projects of interest to them. This utilization of this policy is how
many of Google’s new products were created.



Google incorporates the values that it wants the world to share in
through the methods in which they make resources available to
their employees which allows them to be inspired and creative on a
whim.


Google aims to make information accessible at anytime in any
place. They incorporate this in the workplace by having writable
surfaces throughout offices to which enable jotting down ideas,
laptops everywhere for mobile coding or whatever, and Google
sharing cubes and rooms to enable the exchanging of information.



Google allows employees to have fun by incorporating
extracurricular activities such as football, pool tables, volleyball
courts, video games, pianos, ping pong tables, and gyms that offer
yoga and dance classes, available for use during the workday.



Rewards: Google rewards their employee's hard work with an
extremely relaxed workplace that encourages creativity through
fun activities such as roller hockey and through a casual dress code.
Google also encourages their employees to take care of their minds
and their bodies by offering them the ability to work out in the
gym.


Team orientation: Google encourages its employees to work

and play together so that a family bond is formed. According to
Google , "Meetings that would take hours elsewhere are frequently
little more than a conversation in line for lunch and few walls
separate those who write code from those who write checks." This
really does reinforce a team environment.




Customer-responsive: Google encourages its employees to be

creative in problem solving methods and allowed them to take
decisions that benefit Google users. The employees strive to
provide the best service available and to do this they must be able
to relate to their users. They understand that "thinking outside of
the box" is what they are known for so they go above and beyond
what others would do to satisfy a customer need while maintaining
company values.
Consequently ,Google offers their employees many possibilities
which reflect their beliefs. For example ,are allowed to bring their
pets along and are provided free snacks, lunch and dinner.

Google is used for free
Has a custom search engine, puts the search results
according to the most popular to least popular.
Has options for image search, article search, news
search or even search for any government document.
It searches according to the terms you type and also
searches for other terms with same meaning.
It
is
fast,
reliable,
it
has
its
own
dictionary, calculator, and spell check.


Ads on Google: Many advertisers across the world use
the Google Ad Words program to promote
products/services on the web. Google is a cheapest
source for them as compared to other websites. Google
distinguishes ads from search results by labeling them
as "sponsored links" or "Ads by Google“ that gives users
the best idea to select an appropriate link.



Google search tool: Free tools are available for
advertisers such as Google Analytics which help
advertisers analyze their campaigns and make
them more effective.
 Google earth: It is a virtual globe, map and

geographical information program that was originally
called

positives and negatives of Google
positives and negatives of Google


The lack of hierarchy
resulted to confusion
about control and decision
making power which
practically affected
overall working
conditions.





Managing workplace
diversity is a potent
solution.
Google’s management
should review its
organisational
composition, job
positions, and areas of
control.




Some critics describes
Google’s recruitment
process as narrow.
Knowledge, skills and the
necessary human abilities
to perform certain job
activities should be
considered by Google HR
team rather than
academic proficiency
alone.



Google is recommended to
re-evaluate and study the
HRM functions and policies
particularly its
recruitment process to
meet the demands of the
target market.




Google's work ethics shows
unjust treatment of
contractual employees
and inefficient
organisational behaviour.
Around 30 percent of
Google’s total employees
are contractual, not given
any employee
benefits, and treated
unfairly.



Solve such problems by
hiring, training, and
providing pay benefits to
employees.
All in all, the negative issues of Google are not yet
reflected to its current organisational performance.
However, it is forecasted that such negative issues are
threats to its success.
THANK YOU
