Habitat Tigers live in a great range of habitats , all of which must contain sufficient prey populations, adequate cover to stalk or ambush them, and access to water. Tigers may live in northern latitudes that contain snowy coniferous and hardwood forests, monsoon or seasonally deciduous equatorial forests, or tropical rainforests. Most commonly they live in grassy or swamp areas. Wild tigers are generally found in India, but sometimes in Siberia. Home Quit
D i e t Wild tigers can eat over 60 pounds of meat at one sitting. T igers prey on small and large mammals such as elk, deer, cattle, fish, pigs, and wild boars. Endangered! An “ endangered species” is one that is in danger of extinction throughout all or a significant portion of its range. Tigers are an endangered species. The Bali, Javan, and Caspian tigers have been lost forever and are now extinct . The causes of a species of animal becoming endangered are due to habitat destruction, introduction of exotic species, disease, pollution, and over exploitation. Home Quit
