ROLE OF FINANCIAL MARKETS IN EMERGING ECONOMIES • For the first time ever, EIRC of ICSI in its program witnessed the proud and distinguished presence of the Hon’ble and Revered Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Union Finance Minister as the Chief Guest. Shri Mukherjee mentioned inter-alia, that the country was able to largely avoid the adverse impact of the financial turmoil of the developed world due to its reformed and strengthened financial market system. He mentioned that contrary to popular perception, the country was not “closed and insulated”.
