PowerPay Card Employee Question & Answer Guide
1) What is the PowerPay card?
• PowerPay is a payroll card that allows you to get paid electronically using direct deposit. It
works just like a pre-paid card. It is important to note that it is not a credit card. The card has a
stored value (your pay) and you cannot use it for more than the amount stored on the card.
2) How does the PowerPay card work?
• Instead of receiving a paycheck, the amount of your pay is transferred electronically to your
PowerPay card each and every payday. You then use the card to get cash and/or to make
purchases.
3) What are some of the advantages of having the PowerPay card?
• Convenience – You’ll have immediate access to your pay so no more time wasted standing in
line to cash your check or driving into work to pick up your check when you are off.
• Easy access to cash – You can get cash from ATMs that display the Pulse, Star, and Cirrus
symbols.
• Purchasing power – Not only can you get cash when you need it, you can also use the card to
pay for purchases wherever you see the Visa®
symbol displayed. Your PowerPay card can also
be used for transactions where you are not present, like Internet purchases and telephone
purchases. You may also be able to make recurring payments like insurance premiums and rent
payments.
• Security – No more lost checks or carrying large amounts of cash that can easily be lost.
4) How do I apply for the PowerPay card? Do I need to sign anything?
• Records will enroll you in the PowerPay program after you have signed a consent form and
provided some personal information. This information is used to identify you when you call the
service desk for assistance.
5) Where does the PowerPay card come from?
• Huntington will issue you a PowerPay card and the card remains the property of Huntington
National Bank. You will receive the card in the mail 7 to 10 days after you have been enrolled.
6) How do I activate the PowerPay Card?
• You will receive a Personal Identification Number (PIN) a few days before you receive your
card. You can activate the card by calling a toll free number, accessing the Employee website,
inserting the card into an ATM, or using it for a PIN based Point of Sale (POS) transaction.

7) How do I use the PowerPay card?
Your PowerPay card can be used in several different ways.
• Full pay – Use it to request the full amount of your net pay by taking it to a Huntington Bank or
Visa bank.
• Cash – Insert the card into a Huntington ATM to get cash. You may also use it at other banks’
ATMs as well, but they may charge you for using their ATM.
• Purchases – Pay for purchases using your card anywhere you see the Visa symbol displayed.
You can either hand the card to the merchant or swipe the card through a credit/debit card
terminal for authorization and payment. If you are purchasing something by phone or the
Internet, you will provide the business your PowerPay card number and expiration date, thereby
authorizing the transaction.
8) Will I have to pay any fees for having or using the card?
• You could be charged a usage fee depending on how you use the card.
• Up to four times in a given month, you can use your PowerPay card to get a cash advance at a
Visa bank and/or or at a Huntington ATM for cash, without being charged a usage fee. Also,
when you use your card at a merchant location and use your signature to authorize the
transaction, you will not be charged usage fees. This is usually the “credit” option on the
keypad. If you use the card and authorize the transaction using your PIN, you will be charged
$1.50 for the transaction.
9) How can I get my pay with no additional charges?
• The PowerPay program allows you to use your card for any combination of cash advances/ATM
withdrawals as long as you do not exceed four (4) of these transactions in a calendar month.
Additional transactions will cost $1.50 each.
• The easiest way to get all of your pay without any charge is to go into a Huntington Bank or Visa
bank and ask for the full amount of your net pay.
• See chart for additional fees.
10) Is my money safe?
• Yes your money is safe. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation insures the funds on your
PowerPay card.
11) Why was Huntington PowerPay selected?
• Huntington Bank offered the fewest fees associated with transitions and card usage for the
employee.

12) Where is the nearest Huntington ATM?
• The nearest Huntington ATM is located in theTriangle building located on Euclid Ave.
13) What should I do if my card is lost or stolen? Who do I report it to? How fast can a new
card be reissued? What happens to the balance on the old card? Is the balance safe?
• You should call the toll free number on your card mailer to report the card as lost or stolen.
Reissued cards typically arrive in 7-10 days. The balance is transferred from the lost/stolen
card to the new card. The balance is safe guarded in two ways. You must have a PIN to access
an ATM, and for face-to-face transactions, you must either use your PIN or your signature to
authorize the transaction.
• For the reasons stated above, it is important that you sign the card as soon as you get it. Never
give your PIN to anyone or keep the PIN near your card. After you have activated the card you
can change the PIN to a code that you can easily remember.
14) Is there a fee for the replacement of lost or stolen card(s)?
• Yes, there is a $25.00 charge for the replacement of lost or stolen card(s). If the employee
presents documentation (i.e. police report) that states the card was stolen, there will not be a
charge to the employee for the replacement of the card.
15) What happens if I don’t use the card?
• After six months of inactivity, Huntington will assess a dormant card fee against the account.
Also, the laws of escheatment will apply to abandoned accounts after twelve months. These
monies eventually end up going to the state if the owner of the funds can’t be found.
16) How can I tell what the balance is on my card?
There are several ways to find out the balance on your card.
• Paper statement – We will automatically mail you a paper statement each month reflecting your
card activity. This service is included with the standard $2.00 monthly account charge.
• Online statement – Another option is to view your monthly statement online at our Employee
website. At this web site you will have the option to turn off the paper statement and, if you do
so, we will waive the $2.00 monthly account fee. This website allows you to view your balance
and recent transactions. You can print your statement for your records. The paper statement can
also be turned off when your employer enrolls you in the PowerPay program.
• By telephone – You can also get your balance and some transaction information by calling the
toll free number on your card.
• At an ATM – You can also get your balance through an ATM, but you will be charged $1.50
for doing so.
17) Are statements or notifications issued when deposits are made to my account? Who is
responsible for notifying me when deposits are made? How do I know when activity has
occurred against my account?
• Though no statement or notification will be issued when a deposit is made to your account, you
will have to log into PeopleSoft to access your pay information.
• You can also view the status of your account on the Employee website provided by Huntington
or by calling the toll free number.
18) Can I make a deposit to my account?
• No, only Case can make a deposit to your account.
19) Is there a daily limit on the amount of money I can withdraw or the number of times I can
make a purchase?
• There is a daily withdrawal limit of $400 when utilizing a Huntington ATM. As for
signature-based transactions/purchases, you are only limited by the available balance on
your card.
20) What kind of account is this? Can I use it to write checks, get a wire transfer, or use it for
electronic bill payments (utilities, rent, cable etc)?
• In nearly all respects, the PowerPay Card functions like a Visa debit card, however, the card is
not linked to a checking account. For that reason there is no check writing or wire transfer
capability. However, you could pay your bills by phone by providing them with your PowerPay
card number, expiration date, and payment amount.
21) What happens if I leave my current employer?
• The PowerPay card is the property of Huntington National Bank and should be surrendered to
Case when your employment ends. First you should remove all of the funds from the card by
going to a Huntington Bank or Visa issuing bank and getting the remaining balance on the card.
Then cut the card in half and give it to the Records Department.
