- 3. A digital certificate or a digital signature certificate(DSC) is a digital record of credentials of an individual or an organization. It verifies the ingenuity of an entity involved in an online transaction. DSCs come in handy during online transactions including e-filing of income tax return, e-tendering, online monetary transactions etc. over the internet. They are also used during exchange of confidential information through emails to ensure security and originality of the information as well as its sender Digital Signature Certificate

Digital Signature Standard • Digital Signature Standard (DSS) is the digital signature algorithm (DSA) developed by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) to generate a digital signature for the authentication of electronic documents. DSS was put forth by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in 1994, and has become the United States government standard for authentication of electronic documents. DSS is specified in Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 186.

Flexibility:- One of the greatest advantage of digital signature is its flexibility to manipulate the images or content on the display unit, to meet your needs or that of your clients. B. Unlimited space:- Digital boards can allow huge displays due to the large space they have technologically advance digital signature software also allows you to place a large amount of content including messages and videos on them.
- 11. Disadvantages:- The advantages greatly overshadow the disadvantages. Practically the only disadvantages of using digital signature are the weak laws regarding cyber security which might cause any unnecessary hassles in case of a court case and that both parties have to purchase the certificates for the digital signature in order to use it instead of the one party courier charge. • Initial huge costs:- the initial costs of acquiring LCD and LED display signature unit is quite huge. In addition, there are other additional costs such as repair, maintenance and also upgrading costs. • Need of expertise:- To operate the digital signature software you will need to have some basic IT skills especially if you are interested in developing your own content.

It avoids third party interference in the document. There is a no chance of modification in the content of the digitally signed document. valid Digital signature certificate assures that the sender|/ signer is authentic.
