ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (ACADEMIC)
• Foundation courses
 Indian standard XII with overall average of 50%, to include a pass in 5 subjects (maths required for STE pathway).
• Undergraduate courses
 All Indian standard XII (central boards or a state board) with an overall average of 60%.
 3-year diploma in an engineering or technology subject from a state board of technical education with overall 60%
(accredited by ACITE)
• Postgraduate courses
 Require applicants for taught programmes to hold the equivalent of a UK first degree
2:1 - 60%
2:2 - 55%
 MBA courses require experience in related field.
 LOR is required
Test Minimum Score Requirements
IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with no band score under 5.5
TOEFL(IBT) 80 minimum
PTE Academic 55 (minimum of 51 in each part)
Ulster University English Language requirements
Indian Standard XII English
70% in English in the Standard 12TH
examinations in the Central Boards (CBSE/ICSE) or the State Boards
(Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka).
No time limit.
TO BOOK INTERNAL ENGLISH ASSESSMENT
 Receive your conditional offer with assessments as a condition
 Complete our declaration form – we will ask you to confirm your personal details, including some
information regarding your application, and accept our terms and conditions
 Once you have submitted your declaration form, select the time and date for your test and book
 You will receive a booking confirmation which will include details about what to expect and any
system requirements
 If for any reason you are unable to make your test appointment, it is very important that you
manage your booking using email confirmation you received
 The test will be conducted by and invigilated by QA higher education assessors.
 You need to provide a valid skype id so that the assessor can call you on the day of your test.
APPLICATION PROCESS
• The following items of documentation are required to apply to ulster university london and
birmingham :
• copy of your passport (expiration date 6 months from start of chosen course)
• A personal statement. A minimum of 250 words detailing why you have selected your particular course,
why you have chosen to study within the UK and your future career aspirations.
