Dylan: Good morning Oldham, I'm Dylan and you're listening to Oldham Community Radio live from the studio. The time is 8 minutes past 8, and what a morning we have in store. Joining us now in the studio is a rising star. She's a comedian. She's local. It's the one and only, Katy Harrop. Welcome to the studio Katy. Time check is used to inform audience of what the time is. Quite a colloquial phrase makes him seem friendly. Clearly Introduces guest on the show.
- 3. Politeness, small talk. Leads the conversation by asking the questions as that is his role as the presenter. • Katy: Thanks for having me. • Dylan: So Katy, how did you get into stand up. • Katy: I came from a weird family! My Mum and Dad met at a circus so they say and my brother got arrested for dressing as the grim reaper and harassing elderly people. Comedy is in my blood. • Dylan: Katy, a little bird told me you're on tour. Informal tone as its quite easy going. Colloquial phrase used.
