APOPO trains HeroRATs to detect landmines and screen for tuberculosis (TB), significantly reducing detection times and costs. In 2009, the program cleared over 1.3 million square meters of land, impacted over 44,000 people, and detected 31% more TB cases compared to traditional methods. The organization partners with various institutions for funding and support to enhance its life-saving missions in vulnerable communities.
