Texas STaR Chart Information Student Technology and Readiness The Teacher STaR chart is designed as a resource for improving education and success for schools, teachers, and students through the use of technology. There are basically two types of STaR charts that schools, teachers, students and stakeholders can utilize to promote performance and achievement. – Texas Teacher STaR Chart – Texas Campus STaR Chart
- 3. STaR Chart Tomball ISD – Canyon Pointe Our campus is going to use the Texas STaR Chart to evaluate our campus’s technological resources and tools. Through this process four key areas will be evaluated: – Teaching and Learning – Educator Preparation and Development – Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support – Infrastructure for Technology Each of these four key areas are compared to statewide data and each campus is classified accordingly: – Early Tech – Developing Tech – Advanced Tech – Target Tech

Although this currently a weakness for our campus it is an area that I believe we can improve through professional development and education.

STaR Chart Tomball ISD – Canyon Pointe Key Area STaR Classification: Infrastructure for Technology 2008 – 2009: Developing Tech (13) 2009 – 2010: Advanced Tech (19) 2010 – 2011: Advanced Tech (17) Currently our campus is classified as Advanced Tech but we have shown a decrease from the 2009-2010 school year, it is important that we continuously strive to maintain this current rating and try to improve our classification in this area.

The Key Area and Classifications should provide valuable information that we could use to best understand campus strengths and weakness, as well as strategies for progress. The information provided from this presentation should introduce the STaR Chart components and show where we as a campus stand compared to the statewide data.
