- 3. AN ARRANGED MARRIAGE “ It was an arranged marriage as most still are here. The groom is a lawyer of high court and the bride has just finished her university degree. Shad only spent before the ceremony.”

ROKA & TILAK On this occasion, the Groom’s family members (brother,sister,cousin etc.) go to the brides home for the roka & tilak with these items rice, fruits, dry fruits, sweets a diamond ring in a silver plate. They also bring clothes and other gifts for the bride. The groom’s sister gives rings to the bride and puts tikka forehead ( vermillion powder). The brides family in turn also presents gifts, cash, silver and gold jewelry to the groom’s sister….
- 6. GODH BHARAI On this occasion, the bride’s lap is filled with gift’s ,clothes ,sweets , jewelry and beautifully decorated trays which are brought in by the groom’s sisters. It represent the blessing of the family for the wedding couple that they may always live in wealth and prosperity….
- 7. BHAAT The brother of the bride’s mother (called as mama) bring gifts for the bride and other family members….
- 8. TEL POOJAN & HALDI It’s a kind of rltual bath , the ladies of both the families apply a paste made of milk, turmeric and other ingredients of the faces, arms feet of the bride and the groom to make them prepare of marriage……
- 9. MEHNDI CEREMONY This ceremony generally happiness a day before the wedding, an expert makes intricate design on the hands and feet of the bride in the presence of close female friends and cousin……
- 10. BARAT The Groom, his family and other relatives leaves for the wedding venue. There is band too with the Barat which plays traditional music as well as popular songs for hindi movie.....
- 11. ARRIVAL OF BARAAT The bride's father welcome the groom and his family upon their arrival at the wedding venue. The mother of bride honors the groom by performing the traditional “aarti”…
- 12. VARMALA The bride and groom exchange garlands which signifies that they accept each other as their life partner…..
- 13. PHERAS Both bride and groom circle and sacred fire in the havan kund seven times and take vows (love, faith, help, respect etc.) of marriage with each circle…..
- 14. KANYADAAN The parents of Bride offer their daughter’s hand to the groom in the presence of a Pujari chanting mantras……
- 15. VIDAI It’s the most emotional moment of marriage where bride leaves her parental home and readies to go her husband’s home…..
- 16. VADHU PRAVESH The ceremony happiness when the brides arrives at her husband’s home. At the entrance of the groom’s home, his mother welcomes her daughter-in-law with aarti after that the bride enters the home….
