Sharayah Mullins is a nursing major who is motivated to participate in the political process to help make the country better. She believes every vote counts and people need to stay informed and vote to create change. She was surprised to learn how in-depth laws and the veto process are. She also found it interesting to read different opinions in class discussions. She believes stronger gun regulations are needed, including expanded background checks and mental health checks that must be renewed annually. She views the First Amendment, which protects freedoms of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petitioning the government, as the most important amendment. The impact of social media on society surprised her the most in the course.
