10   EVENTS OF THE WORLD IN 2011
1.   Revolution in the Middle East and Africa   Earlier in the year 2011 is a bad start for a number of countries in the Middle East and Africa region with a majority Muslim population, with the leaders being tyrannical and authoritarian.  On January 14, 2011, the President of Tunisia,  Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali , who has ruled for 23 years, deposed by the revolutionary movement which made its people. Followed by the overthrow of the Egyptian president who has been in power for 30 years, Hosni Mubarak. The President was also ousted through people power action for about 25 days, and he resigned from his post on February 12, 12.  After the revolution in Tunisia and Egypt, the wave of revolution sweeping the surrounding countries, like Yemen, Libya, Oman, Algeria, Bahrain, Iran, and Syria. The most tragic fate of Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi. Because he refused to resign, bases its defense on NATO bombed the Libyan capital.Gaddafi finally died after a hole was found hiding in the city of Sirte by the rebels, and his head shot.
2.   Japan Earthquake and Tsunami   On Friday, March 11, 2011 at around 14:46 local time, an earthquake measuring 8.9 on the Ritcher scale (SR) shook the eastern coast of Japan, followed by an aftershock measuring 7.4 magnitude.  Approximately 16,000 people were killed, 4,000 missing persons, and 6,000 people were injured in eight prefectures. Destroyed and damaged buildings reached 125 000 units. In addition, the earthquake and tsunami also triggered an explosion at the Fukushima Nuclear Reactor.
3.   Marriage between Prince William and  Kate Middleton The wedding was held on 29 April 2011 is considered the bigest marriage this century. No wonder, because besides the Royal Wedding or Marriage in UK is spent approximately $ 40 million pounds, or about Rp369 billion, wedding broadcast live by various television stations in the world is estimated to be watched by about 2 billion people.
4.   Osama bin Laden Killed   Announcement of Osama's death was announced by U.S. President Barack Obama on May 1, 2011, but Osama was killed a week earlier. Al Qaeda founder was shot dead by members of U.S. forces in Abottabad, Pakistan, in a special operation. Besides Osama, two of his followers also reportedly killed in shootout drama at the residence of Osama in Abottabad raided.  Americans think of Osama as the person most responsible for the attack on the World Trade Centre (WRC) on September 11, 2011.
5.   Massacre in Oslo, Norway   Initially the incident on July 22, 2011 is alleged as an act of terrorism because it begins with a bomb blast that killed seven people in downtown Oslo. An hour later, a uniformed man who police later revealed Behring named Anders Breivik, Otoya to the island which is about 50 miles from the city, and shot about 700 youths who were attending a meeting of the Labour Party youth organizations on the island.  When the shooting is done, a number of youth had fled, and the 32-year-old Anders, pursue and look everywhere, including bushes, caves and among the buildings on the island of Otoya. At least 91 people were killed in this incident. Survivors most reckless plunge into the sea and swam away from the island.
6.   Train Collision in China    On July 23, 2011 two express trains collide in China, and resulted in 32 people were killed. The accident began when the express train from Hangzhou to Wenzhou D3115 in Zhejiang province, eastern China, stopping due to loss of power after being struck by lightning. At the time the train stopped, came the express train from the city Shuangyu D301, Wenzhou. The collision was inevitable, so some cars out rails, and two of them fell from the bridge as high as more than three feet, while one of them hanging on the side of the bridge.
7.   European Economic Recession   Early in August the european nations face the nightmare of the property triggered the debt crisis in the United States. Inevitably, countries such as England, Italy, Greece and others, mired in a severe recession due to financial failure to pay debts, so that their country flare.  Greek and Italian economies were destroyed so that even in November, at the urging of various circles, Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, resigned. Until now, the recession is still whack the Blue Continent. Some analysts even predict, the crisis will reach a climax in mid-2012. 
8.   London Riots   This case is the impact of the recession that hit Europe. The issue stems from the death of Mark Duggan, a young man 29 years was mentioned as a member of an armed gang in London. Mark killed by police gunfire on his chest.  Death Mark addressed with anger by youths in the country Lady Di, so on August 6, 2011 riots broke out in Tottenham, north London. Riots that marred looting and burning vehicles and buildings that spread rapidly throughout London and other cities in the UK. Fireworks, Molotov cocktails and other weapons of mass thrown to the police. The shops were looted, tortured and robbed people. The riots only stopped on August 12, after police arrested more than 1,000 rioters, where 400 of whom subsequently prosecuted.  The unrest has killed 5 people and injured 16 people.
9.   Floods in Thailand   The accident which occurred from October 18, 2011 was hit 48 provinces in Thailand, and only subsided completely after 40 days. These floods not only reduce the population of 2.3 million homes, seven industrial areas and 300,000 hectares of farmland, but also cripple economic activity and government, and killed at least 370 people
10.   Hurricane Washi in the Philippines   Washi storm speed over 200 km / h, hit the east coast of Mindanao Island and surrounding areas on Friday, December 16, 2011, resulting in the rivers to overflow, triggering flash floods, and landslides. At least 957 people were killed and 49 people missing.  The number of fatalities resulting from unpreparedness residents in anticipation of the coming disaster, since the storm hit at night when most of them have been sleeping soundly. Major port city in southern Philippines, the Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, is the area most severely hit by the storm Washi. In both locations, the death toll reached about 579 people.
