• 확률(probability) :
경험 혹은 실험의 결과로 특정한 사건(event)이나 결과가
발생할 가능성
1. 주관적 확률 : 경험과 직관에 의한 확률
2. 고전적 확률 : 각각의 결과가 나올 확률을 객관적으로
미리 판단할 수 있는 경우
3. 상대도수 확률 : 같은 실험을 무한히 하였을 때
특정 사건이 발생할 수 있는 상대적 가능성

정의 2.1 : 통계적 실험에서 발생가능한 모든 결과들의 집합을 표본공간
(sample space)이라 하고 S로 표시한다.
정의 2.2 : 사상(event)은 표본공간의 부분집합(subset)이다.
ex) 주사위를 던지는 실험에서 짝수가 나오는 사상 X
X={2, 4, 6}
정의 2.3 : 표본공간 S에 대한 하나의 사상 A의 여집합(complement)은
A의 원소가 아닌 S의 모든 원소들이고 A′으로 표시한다.
ex) 주사위를 던져 짝수가 나오는 사상 X의 여집합 Y

정의 2.4 : 두 사상 A와 B의 교집합(intersection)은 A와 B에 공통으로
속하는 모든 원소들을 포함하는 사상이며 A∩B로 표시한다.
정의 2.5 : A∩B=Ø , 즉 A와 B가 공통원소를 가지고 있지 않으면 두사상
A와 B는 상호배반(mutually exclusive)이다.
ex) 3명중에 2명을 택해 나열하는 경우의 수는?
12, 13, 23, 21, 31, 32 => 12, 23, 31
정의 2.6 : 두 사상 A와 B의 합집합(union)은 A혹은 B에 속하는 모든 원소
들을 포함하고 A∪B로 표시한다.
