• Developed in the 1960’s by Howard Barrow and colleagues
 •   McMaster University. (Canada)

• Reasoning behind PBL
 •   Not satisfied with the education
 •   The content learned was not relevant to subject matter
 •   The inability to apply skills and knowledge to real life situation.

• Learners are challenge with problem-solving problems with multiple
  answers.
• Students are place into groups.
 •   Discuss the problem with each other

 •   Teachers do not teach facts to them nor test them on facts.

• Questions are open ended

• Increases students’ motivation
• Enhances problem-solving skills
• Enhances critical thinking skills

     the question.
