Recycling is a process that converts waste materials into useful products to reduce waste, air pollution, and consumption of raw materials. Common recyclable materials include glass, tin, cardboard, newspaper, and aluminum. The recycling process involves collecting these materials and remanufacturing them. For example, newspaper is recycled by separating ink from fibers, mixing the pulp with wood chips, drying, and reprocessing it into new newsprint or wrapping paper. Cardboard boxes are pulped, blended with new pulp, dried, and converted into cardboard layers to make new boxes. Aluminum pieces are melted into ingots and rolled into sheets to make various aluminum products like car bodies.
