First rule of Profile Creating To maximize your chances for an interview, your profile should capture a person’s attention in 30 seconds. Your profile must be professional presented in a way that indicates that you are an ideal candidate for the job
First rule of Profile Creating Try to match the JD as closely as you can. Your profile should show that you have right skills, experience, behavior, and attitude, which the employer is looking to employ.
First rule of Profile Creating Remember, the employer is recruiting your skills and not you or your ego Research the job you are applying for.
Second rule of Profile Creating To demonstrate your ability to communicate your ideas in a business sense clearly. Keep your profile simple, concise, easy to read and tailored made one.
Second rule of Profile Creating If you find it difficult to tailor your profile to the requirement then perhaps this job isn’t for you. There is no point in chasing a job you don’t possess its required skills.
Second rule of Profile Creating Lying in your resume is a strategic mistake that you might regret for the rest of your career at the wrong job. Be Specific.
Third rule of Profile Creating Should avoid your ego in your profile. Need to emphasize your unique skills, characteristics and achievements. Assertive emphasize and strong presentation are good. Get Right to the point.
Third rule of Profile Creating Potential employers are looking for results oriented employees who save time and reduces cost. Never include job duties on your resume if you cannot follow them up with the results that was produced .
Third rule of Profile Creating When writing a JD always use past-tense verbs. Follow this rule even when writing about your current job. This creates consistency throughout your profile.
Profile Components Contact Heading. Career Objective. Summary Statement. Work History. Education. Optional Information.
Contact Heading The header of your profile should included your name, address, phone number, and email-address, if you regularly use it. When submitting a paper version of your profile, it is visually appealing to use a larger font for your name.
Contact Heading Include both a local and permanent address and address and a phone number so that an employer can easily  reach you.
Career Objective Your career objective allows the recruiter to know if you are suited for specific position. It is also an opportunity for you to market yourself by mentioning your skills and motivation.
Summary Statement Customize your resume for each prospective employer and use keywords found in the job description. When writing your profile and job description don’t use “I” or lofty language, and long sentences. Once you are finished, have someone proofread your profile.
Work History The way you structure the “experience” section will depend on what you are looking for and what you have done. This section lists in chronological order the position you held, name and locations of employers, and dates employed.
Work History You should also list responsibilities, achievements, significant contributions and demonstrated skills.
Education History List all college degrees, relevant courses or workshops, and internal or corporate training course completed.
Optional Information Include only what is relevant to the position.
Select the Right Format Selecting the formats is a major strategic decision; chronological, function or a combination of both. The chronological profile format is widely preferred by employers, and works well if you’re staying in the same field.
Profile Format Do’s When using a chronological profile, list your most recent job first followed by your additional work experience. Use bulleted statements, not paragraphs to describe your job duties.
