Project 4: Presentation on Mobile/Tablet Design
For this week's project, you will create a presentation in PowerPoint or Keynote that
examines the impact of the growth of mobile/tablet use on web design and convinces
your prospective client that they should invest the time and resources to make sure
their website is up-to-date. You can use the same company you used for your
information architecture report in Week 1 or you can use your own company or a client
or prospect of yours.
Your presentation should consist of at least 10 slides and not more than 20 slides that
contain images and bulleted text (please do not use large blocks of text). Begin with a
title slide that includes the title of your presentation, your name, and the date.
You will need to include your script in the “Speaker’s Notes” section at the bottom of
each slide. Assume you would be presenting this to someone, so you don’t need to
include every word on the actual slide.
In your presentation, cover the following:
 How much mobile and tablet usage has grown and estimated future usage
 How mobile and tablet usage has impacted web design
 What current technologies can be used to make websites accessible on all
devices
 What you recommend a business should specifically do to make sure their
websites can be accessed and used on mobile and tablet devices
 1-2 bad examples of websites that don’t work well on mobile/tablet devices
 1-2 good examples of websites that do work well on mobile/tablet devices
Keep in mind that your presentation should be persuasive - make it interesting and
convince the viewer that they need to start thinking about mobile.
To get started, read the following articles (you can also find your own articles for
additional research):

You must cite your sources either on the bottom of each slide or include a References
slide at the end. Sources must be cited in proper APA format.
Not sure how to use proper APA format?
 View the PDF called “APA Style Guide to Electronic References” located in the
“References” tab in the course on FSO.
 Visit http://www.bibme.org or http://www.easybib.com. Always double check to
make sure what the site outputs is correct.
Please review the “Project 4 Rubric” document for information on how this assignment
will be graded.
