- 2. Types of volcanoes: There are volcanoes on land and under the sea. There are three types of volcanoes: Active volcanoes erupted and can erupt again. Dormant volcanoes are sleeping. Extinct volcanoes can´t erupt again.
- 3. Active volcanoes: Kilauea is an active volcano in Hawaii. It´s the most active volcano in the world. The island of Hawaii is growing bigger and bigger because of the eruptions. Arenal is an active volcano in Costa Rica. Tourists go to see the volcano at night. Kilauea Dormant volcanoes: Mount Fuji in Japan is dormant at the moment. Its last eruption was in 1707. Mount Fuji Extinct volcanoes: Anatahan is an island in the Pacific Ocean. Scientits said it was extinct but it erupted in 2003. Anatahan
- 4. Vesuvius is an extinct volcano. I´ts in Italy. There was a terrible eruption in the past. When Vesuvius erupted there was a lot of ash . It was impossible to breath and a lot of people died. The ash covered de city of Pompeii. Two men discovered the ruins of the city in 1595. The did lots of excavations and they discovered houses, streets, shops, sculptures, paintings... Today lots of people from all over the world visit the ruins of Pompeii every year.
