Propp's character theory outlines eight character types that often appear in stories. The document provides an example story that features a space marine named Reaper as the hero who must defeat a monster. Reaper receives help from his sister, who provides key information, acting as the donor character. The U.S. government sends the marines, including Reaper and the false hero Sarge, on their quest as the dispatcher. In the end, Reaper is able to defeat the monster and end the threat.

- 2. Based on Propp’s Character Theory he believes that there are eight character types. The eight character types: The hero (protagonist), who is on a quest. The villain (antagonist), who is against the hero. The donor, who aids the hero by giving him a magic/significant tool. The dispatcher, who sends the hero on his path. The false hero, who attempts to divert the hero away from his quest. The helper, helps the hero. The princess, who is the heroes reward. The father, who praises and rewards the hero for his efforts.
- 3. The U.S government (dispatcher) send for a group of space marines to go into outer space. to detect and destroy a monster (villain). There are five space marines and the head of the marines is called Sarge (false hero), one of the marines is known by the name ‘Reaper’ (hero) who is also on the quest to find and kill this evil fiend. Little to his amusement he finds his sister (the donor) she found critical information on the monster which had helped Sarge and Reaper crack the case. The situation became so immense that their own life’s was the prize. The monster then converted Sarge into a zombie so Reaper had no choice but to shut Sarge in a void and destroy that void.
- 4. The Hero was Reaper. The Villain was the monster. The donor was Reaper’s sister. The dispatcher was the U.S Government. The false hero was Sarge. The helper’s where the other marine’s that lost there life in the line of duty. The princess/prize was survival. However there was no father but they where rewarded by the government for ceasing a level 5 quarantine in mars.
