Puppy obedience training is extremely helpful in satisfying a number of
the dog's most significant requirements. Offering something for the puppy
to focus its energies on is helpful for its development. Most dog owners do
not realise that almost all pups can be properly trained as soon as they
are seven or eight weeks old. Puppies are highly adept at following
instructions so proper guidance and leadership from the owner is the key
to the puppy's learning.

The following are key tips and advice which will help your puppy to
become obedient:

Always keep an eye on your puppy. They are still unsure about their
surroundings and are not properly trained so will wander around the
house and most likely cause havoc.

It is important to let your puppy socialise and discover new things but
at a pace controlled by you.

Bring the puppy outside of the house so it becomes used to other
     people, dogs, cars etc.

Get the puppy used to being touched; check its teeth, its paws, ears
     etc.

Use rewards and treats when reinforcing behaviour you want.

Using hand signals when offering verbal commands helps the dog
     understand the command easier.

Training your puppy is vital for it to feel safe in your company and
to behave in it also. An obedient pup is a delight to be around and a
great companion. Having a well behaved puppy when out in a busy
environment will also save you from great stress and
embarrassment. It is important to train your pup on a regular basis
in short intervals. A puppy's attention span is only around 10
minutes so bare this in mind when planning your training sessions.
You should find that after a few sessions the puppy feels more
comfortable around you and will start to enjoy being petted.
