How effective is the
combination of your main
product and ancillary tasks?
In the real industry, both my short film and
print products may be produced by the same
company, the marketing team would source
material from the film to create these.
Therefore to create my all 3 of my products, I
needed to make sure my film poster correctly
represented my the film and that the magazine
review was a realistic view of my film.
Our film was definitely more mainstream and
conventional therefore our short film and print
products needed to be typical of our genre.
Something I was keen to do
     was to keep the woods
location of my short film to
be the same place of my
photo on my film poster, this
  created cohesion between
   my products and enabled
 them to be connected. The
 ‘who will return?’ tagline at
the top was a way of
 connecting the credits from
  the beginning of our short
film to our film poster, we
    wanted a more simplistic
version which I believe works
well. We also chose to put
the casting list on both the
We chose to keep the font
     of ‘In-Focus’ the same
     between both the film
   poster and the magazine
     review, this made the
connection between to the 2
   evident to the audience.
Also we chose to add the
 film poster onto our review
to make it even clearer that
this a film review of ‘In-
Focus’ this allowed it to be
more realistic of a short film
  made in the real industry.
  Furthermore we added an
  still image from iMovie of
our short film, this was our
Over all I am very pleased with all of
my Ancillary Tasks, I feel that they
       portray and connote the same
feel, theme and genre as the film itself
and is no way misleading, which is
    very important for the promotional
aspect of film making. In my feedback
 from the audience no-one questioned
   it’s ‘believability’ suggesting it looks
legitimate which I was very satisfied
