C. Slide?
There are so many ways in which things
move.
In the park, the swing moves forward and
backward.
The carousel goes around a circle. The slide
goes down straight.
The following are the different
patterns of motion.
1. Linear motion- is a movement of an
object in a straight path.
For example, a kid
running forward in a
straight line is doing a
linear motion.
2. Circular motion- is a movement of
object in circle or rotation path.
For example, a moving
Ferris wheel is moving
in a circular path,
which means the
movement is in circle.
3. Zigzag motion- is a motion in which
the path is making sharp angles.
For example, a bus travelling in a zigzag
road.
4. Up and down motion- is a motion
showing upward and downward or
alternate movement.
For example, sitting and playing in a
seesaw. It is moving in an up and down
path.
Another example is an elevator going
up and down.
5. Back and forth motion- is a motion
repeatedly moving in one direction and
then in an opposite direction.
For example an old woman sitting on a
rocking chair. The back and forth
motion of the rocking chair creates a
back and forth path.
Another example is swinging back and
forth.
Direction: Analyze each situation. Draw the path
of motion in each picture below.
