- 1. 4. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? Chloe King
- 2. Microsoft Word / Publisher • Research – Writing up rough notes on conventional examples of trailers and the ancillary products • Planning – Used to put together the plot, character list and the storyboard. • Evaluation – Planning the notes to be presented in various ways.
- 3. Microsoft PowerPoint, Slideshare • Research – Put together brief notes and analysis of products and presented it in a formal, neat way. • Evaluation – Separating technology and discussing its uses in my coursework of separate slides.
- 4. Windows Movie Maker • Research – Presenting notes with clips and voiceovers • Planning – Putting frames from the storyboard into a film with voiceover and music to produce an animatic of the trailer • Trailer – Putting the final trailer together with video recordings and music files • Evaluation – Presenting notes with clips and voiceovers
- 5. Sketchbook Pro, Office 24 Kanvus • Planning – Used to draw some of the frames for the trailer and animatic as rough sketches. Some were then traced over in Flash to make them clearer.
- 6. Adobe Flash / Fireworks • Planning – Animating and drawing up frames for the storyboard and animatic • Poster – Editing images and text • Website – Editing images and animating the reviews • Trailer – Editing the texts and animating the production logos at the start
- 7. SurveyMonkey • Research – Receiving audience feedback and information on what is expected and desired from a horror trailer. • Research and Evaluation – Presenting notes and annotations as an interactive mindmap which can be navigated easily Prezi
- 8. Google Search • Research – Searching for trailer, poster and website examples as well as music which may be usable in my own work Uploading all coursework and research to one area which I can keep track of. Blogger
- 9. Wix Used to assemble and publish the website for the film. Also allowed me to add pages, links and other features such as animation. Dafont Used to create stylised fonts for each product. This were often edited afterwards in Fireworks as they were only available in black text on a white background.
- 10. Microphone Recording voiceovers for analysis of real products, voice acting in the animatic and evaluating my product. Also used to record an interview for the evaluation in the studio. Camera, studio, lighting equipment Recording the trailer whilst also taking photos for the ancillary products.
- 11. YouTube, youtubetomp3, convertfiles • Research – Allowed me to search for trailer examples and download them to use in my analysis. • Planning/Trailer – Could search for music to download as mp3 files to use in the animatic and final trailer.
