- 1. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
- 2. I have learnt a lot about different technologies when making my entire music magazine. I used three main software's to produce my magazine, they were Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. I will be saying what I used each software for and my weaknesses and strengths of each software.
- 3. I used Photoshop to create my front cover. I had used this software before but not to the level that I used it to create my front cover. I had to experiment when using this software and see what would work and what would not work. One othe things I found hard about using Photoshop was all of the layer that I had to keep under control as I had quite a few I had to make sure that all of my writing and icons were on top of my image and that my masthead was on top of the image so it could stand out. The thing I liked most on Photoshop was the eraser tool as I got the hang of it I was able to rub out my masthead so it seemed as if the masthead was behind the image but it was really above.
- 4. Creating my contents page and double page spread and using a completely different software to my front cover made things difficult as I had never used this software before. I liked using this software as I found it easier to explore and do things. The one problem I had was when I as creating my double page spread and it needed to be on an A3 page instead of two A4 pages. Altogether I found this software the easiest as it was quite straight forward. I would use this software in the future to produce things because I feel comfortable using it.
- 5. Photography, Studio & Camera I have learnt a lot about the studio and also a DSLR camera and what can be done. I have seen the difference between a raw image and a jpeg image. A raw image is not pixelated and a jpeg image has many pixels. I made the mistake by taking all of my image in my studio time as jpegs because I did not check the settings but my images came out fine in the end result. Having a session before letting me know how to use the studio and what to do in my time made things easier and made the whole process faster.
- 6. BLOGGER I used Blogger throughout this work and it was easy to use as I already had a blog and things technologies that are similar to Blogger.
- 7. I used illustrator to create my masthead and I found this easy as I didn’t want my masthead to be too complex so I chose one of the fonts that were already there. I had to use this software as I could not create a masthead on any other technology for it to be able to go on Photoshop for my front cover.
