Questionnaire Analysis I asked all my participants which age group they belonged to. The graph shows that most of my participants were teenagers; this is the target group that we were aiming for.
I asked all my participants which genre of horror films they liked best. The graph shows that most of my participants like Teen scene. From this we decided to base our trailer on Teenagers, and have the main characters as teenagers, so the audience can relate.
I asked all my participants what they wanted to see in a horror film trailer. The graph shows that most of my participants like both blood and weapons. From this we decided to use both weapons and blood in our trailers.
I asked all my participants where and how they heard about horror films. The graph shows that most of my participants hear about horror films from TV and Internet. I asked this as a multiple choice question, because we would need to advertise in many ways to make sure our trailer is seen. From this we have decided to use social networking sites, such as Facebook and twitter.
I asked all my participants what gender they would like the lead character to be. The graph shows that most of my participants hear would want the lead character to be a female. This links in with the final girl theory and also links in with the feminist slasher idea that men enjoy women being tormented.
I asked all my participants what they thought the main conventions of horror films were. The graph shows that most of my participants thought that having darkness as an element is significant in horror movies as it set the mood.
I asked all my participants what weapons they associate with horror films. The graph shows that most of my participants associate knife with horror films, however guns was the least associate with horror films, this is because it’s seen as too easy and unrealistic.
I asked all my participants what enticed them about horror films. The graph shows that most of my participants were drawn into horror films from watching trailers and advertisement. Others say reading reviews and word of mouth. To make sure our film is watched we have to make sure that our trailer is engaging. We also have to advert in the right places.
I asked all my participants what types of films they prefer. Most of my participants prefer trilogy. This normally consists of three parts. From this graph, our horror films must have a good enough storyline to go into 3 parts. It must make sense.
I asked all my participants how they consumed horror films, so we know how to distribute our movie. Most of my participants consume movies by going to the cinema. This shows that we would have to have our movie screened in the cinema in order to gain loads of attention and people viewing it. This would mean that we would need to have a good relationship with the managers. However, our movie must also be on the internet, so it can be access anytime.
