Questions 4 and 5 4. Who would be the audience for your media product? 5. How did you attract/address your audience? 4. The main magazine audience group I have targeted is 17-30 age group, men. I have chosen this as my audience as I feel I know what this category of age are into in terms of Music Magazines. I have included bands, which are enjoyed by the majority of people in this age group category. I decided to not target women as I would have to change the complete design and creative sense. The colours and personality of the products would have to change, along with the content I have included. 5. I addressed the audience through a variety of techniques. I used drop shadows to highlight the mastheads of each media product created. I used a medium close-up image with the main image on the front cover to catch the readers attention. I also created a catchy selling line, which uses words such as Indie (genre of my magazine) and music (the subject of my magazine). The use of tear footers throughout my magazine creates a messy look, which is an image associated with the Indie genre. I have basically tried to attract my audience using every forms and convention of a magazine. The main image is very important in the front cover, where as the features section on the contents page directs people, so it has to be clear. On the double –page spread, the main idea is to capture the audience’s interest and make the article and its creative components clear and well-structured.
