Positives Food Quality of food was good Quantity of food was served in a way where everyone was able to have their fill including the volunteers Deserts were excellent
Positives Program Excellent delivery by Shuyukh Scheduling was well done Good topic
Positives Stage Decoration and Layout of venue Excellent decoration on stage Layout was well liked Venue looked nice Adjustments for extra chairs were well done
Positives Volunteers: Willingness to adjust to challenging circumstances
Positives- Action Item 1. Uncle Sherif is a good food vendor and highly recommended for future events 2. Layout of venue should be nice 3. Keep up the high standard of  stage decoration 4. Keep to schedule in future  events as well
Learnings Food Food menu should be finalized well in advance so proper planning can be executed No kitchen at venue Food Storage outside washrooms Iftar should have been served in a way where the Shuyukh were not interrupted and it did not look unprofessional with volunteers moving randomly while the Shuyukh were talking
Learnings Food Extra plates and utensils should be ordered Better set up of recycling and garbage
Learnings Venue Layout More exits and entrances No provision for children, mothers; Segregation Better chairs for Shuyukh Air conditioning above Shuyukh made them “cool” Chairs made squeaky noises Better arrangement for extra people showing up at door

Learnings Volunteer management Event Manager should be announced ahead of time Event manager should make proper teams with defined roles and responsibilities Tasks should be more distributed among volunteers Single point of contact from Qurba to deal with external parties
Learnings Volunteer management Too many people for set up and lack of people for clean up Qurba volunteers should be directed towards their responsibilities beforehand All equipment should be ordered well in advance. Where possible, food items should also be purchased ahead of time and not left on last day.
Learnings Marketing  More notice about event to attendees These kind of events should be like SunniPath’s Course Lens Events Scheduling Jamah timings should be made clear so people don’t join prayers late.
Learnings Program Should be easier to talk to the MC during event
Learnings Action items Write up a detailed venue checklist before choosing next venue. Scheduled planning of event and not a rush at last minute Early appointment of event manager who should then work on a proper event plan (how many volunteers, how they should be managed, etc.?)
Learnings Action items Provision for all volunteers to meet with event manager prior to event and again when time to clean up; this allows tasks to be updated and assigned as needs change;
