This document summarizes a research paper on using ant colony behavior as inspiration for unsupervised document clustering. It discusses how ants use stigmergy, or indirect communication via pheromones deposited in the environment, to self-organize tasks like corpse clustering. The document proposes a novel ant clustering system called ACLUSTER that avoids memory-based strategies and uses different ant speeds. ACLUSTER is also the first application of ant systems to textual document clustering. It reviews previous models of corpse clustering and brood sorting in ants and how they have been applied to exploratory data analysis.
