- 1. Reflection on 1st version of P Task The task was to create a short clip including; • 180 degree rule • Match on action • Shot reverse shot • Conversation and walking into a room and sitting down • Parallel editing • Graphic match • Consideration of framing – range of shot types • Range of angles • Consideration of lighting • Tracking/panning – movement •Consideration of mise en scene – costumes, gestures, expressions, setting • Enigma codes and action codes We used a powerpoint slide to plan it which included the setting, the motivation of the meeting, the dialogue and the costumes. However, the issue was that it was not very well thought through, making our plan not very effective. We had 3 members in our group, me Amad and Harley. Harley was in charge of the camera work and edited his own piece. We all took part in the directing and me and Amad edited our own piece together. As I was new to editing Amad guided me through it. On the day of the shoot we encountered quite a few problems such as being unorganized due to our lack of planning beforehand. This could be seen in our clip. We have learnt a lot about the importance of planning well post production and how essential it is. Overall we feel this P Task was not to the best level of our individual
- 2. abilities and did not meet the brief. There were some blatant errors in the video clip. We came to the conclusion of re-doing our P Task with a better and improved version where we will think things through thoroughly and organize ourselves better, therefore making this only our first version of our P Task.
