Reflective diary week 5
- 1. Reflective Diary week 5 During week 5 of my FMP, I began production. During this week, I planned to make sure I had all the actors I needed for my product. This is so I wouldn’t need to panic when actually filming my product as I would already have everything sorted. I had also planned to make sure all my work was finished which it was. Then after that, start creating some music for my trailer. I decided to create this on the software garage band. This was because it is quite easy to use and also has lots of different tools and instruments meaning I could create the exact sound I wanted. For a task like this, I would always use garage band as it is such an effective software to use. I decided to try and use strings at first. This was because from my research, I had heard that if executed correctly, they could be used to build suspense very effectively. After testing different types of strings found one which sounded very tense and dramatic. It was called Bright synth strings. The idea that it sounded very tense creates a more suspenseful product. This is good as the product will then fulfil its purpose of being a thriller. At the end of the week, I began filming my trailer. This went quite well as I managed to film the majority of the shots I had planned to film. My filming also went quite smoothly. This was because all my actors were listening to what I was saying and also giving me some advice on how I could perhaps slightly change a shot to make it better. However, after collecting all my shots I realised not all of them were up to the standard I wanted. This dint mean they weren’t good, I just wanted everything to be a very good quality as amplanning to get the highest grade possible. If I could complete this week again, I would have completed more music during the week. This is because I wouldn’t really have to concentrate on it after this week that much. This would allow me to accomplish the most progress possible. I would have also perhaps planned extra shots as I will now have to collect some unplanned shots as some of mine didn’t really work as I had planned. This would have saved me some time and let me concentrate on areas that I am not as strong on.
